Custom Website Design and Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation – What can we do for you?

People tend to only look at the first few pages of search engine results. That’s why it’s so important that your site ranks highly for the relevant search terms. Search engine optimisation does exactly that: it allows you to capture a larger share of search traffic by improving your website’s search engine ranking.

Search Engine Optimisation is the most important part of your website. If your website is not receiving the amount of visitors it deserves, then all of the time and money spent developing your online business is being wasted.

At the SEO Doctor, for just £200 plus VAT, we can provide you with a full ranking report within 24 hours which will enable you to build your business in the knowledge that you have got the foundations right. Our report will detail how your website is currently performing and suggest key steps forward that you can take yourself to improve both your current visitor numbers and current search ranking position.

Q: How could the SEO Doctor make my website business more successful?

A: We aim to make your website more successful by ensuring that you are in a good starting place to build your organic optimisation without the need to waste hundreds or thousands of pounds either building and designing a site that isn’t optimised or by paying others to optimise your site, when you don’t know what they are going to achieve.

Doubt anyone who can tell you they can get you in the top 10 of any search engine. There are thousands of companies who will tell you they can - our job is too tell you where your website is now, what’s good and what’s not … that’s it! If you need further help or advice then we can help, by telling you what you need, and more importantly what you don’t. The majority of all people on the internet do not look any further than the first 1-3 pages of search engine result listings when searching for particular sites. If you are not listed on these you are unlikely to ever get many search engine visitors.

Q: How do I know if my website is already listed and whether I need your services?

A: You know your website better than anybody else, and for that reason simply imagine for one moment that you are your own potential customer and you are using Google to find products available through your website. What keywords or key-phrases would you enter into the search engines to find your website?

Q: Is it really that important to be ranked in the first few pages of Google, Altavista & Yahoo?

A: Google is the dominating force across the globe, a search engine utilised by millions upon millions of visitors every single day, and across the world. We believe it to be essential that your website is both listed and ranked highly.

Q. What services do you provide?

A:We will provide a current ranking report saying where you are right now as a business. Identify if you have any pages optimised and to what degree. Identify if your pages are ‘built’ and optimised in the correct manner, and if not tell you how to. Give you a web page speed report based on connection and download times via both 56k and broadband (up to 2 meg). Most importantly for you, we will suggest key steps forward that you can take yourself to improve both your current visitor numbers and current search ranking position.

Q. Why is your service so inexpensive?

A: The answer is simple, we are here to help you save money, to avoid the pitfalls and traps that are littered everywhere. We don’t promise the earth, nor do we say we can do anything that we cannot do. Our main priority is to ensure that you have the knowledge that will stop you paying too much too soon, and help you to understand what other companies may do for you. Although the process of optimisation and promotion is a technical one, some companies may charge well over the odds to achieve what they have to. They play on your fears (no visitors, no sales) and perhaps, and most commonly, your lack of knowledge.

Q: Is the price advertised a yearly fee or a monthly charge?

A: The price for each of our promotional packages is one time only, and you have the opportunity of continuing with an ongoing monthly subscription that will report to you the same information on a monthly basis so that you can monitor the growth and rise of your website. We provide custom website design, search engine optimisation and promotion. By using our ethical techniques and expert custom website design methods, our SEO consultants can drive traffic to your website, attracting new business to your company.

The Goal of a Search Engine

Search Engine Relevancy: Many businesses think search engines have a hidden agenda or they just do not understand them. This simply is not true. The goal of the search engine is to provide high quality relevant content to people searching the internet.

Search engines with the broadest distribution network sell the most advertising space. Yahoo! and Google are considered the search engines with the best relevancy. Their technologies power the bulk of web search.

The Problems With Listing a New Website: The biggest problem for new websites is that search engines have no idea they exist. Even when a search engine finds a new document it has a difficult time determining its quality. Search engines rely on links to help determine the quality of a document - that is where The Retail Doctors SEO consultants can help.

Parts of a Search Engine: While there are different ways to organise website content, every crawling search engine has the same basic parts. Each consists of:

• A crawler/spider

• An index (or catalogue)

• A search interface

Crawler (or Spider): The crawler does just what its name implies. It scours the web following links, updating pages and adding new pages when it comes across them. Each search engine has periods of deep crawling and periods of shallow crawling. Rapidly changing or highly important documents are more likely to get crawled frequently. The frequency of the crawl has no effect on the relevancy of the page, it simply updates

the search engine's cached copy of the page. The best benefit of having a frequently crawled page is that you can get your new websites or pages crawled quickly by linking to them from a powerful page.

The Index: The index is where the spider's collected data is stored. When you perform a search on a major search engine, you are not searching the internet but the cache of the internet provided by that search engine (its index).

Search engines organise their content in what is called a “reverse index.” It sorts website documents by words in a language. When you search Google and it displays 1- 10 out of 143,000 website it means that there are 143,000 website pages which either have the words in your keyword phrase on them, or have inbound links containing the words in the phrase.

Search Interface: The search algorithm and search interface are used to find the most relevant document in the index based on the user search. First the search engine tries to determine user intent by looking at the words the searcher typed in. The search engine breaks this down via keyword vectors and compares this to their database to find the most relevant results.

In most major search engines a portion of the relevancy calculations are stored ahead of time and some of them are calculated in real time.

Our SEO Consultants offer a range of internet solutions. We are experts in custom website design and development, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), logo design and online marketing. So, we can leave you to sit back, relax and know the world can find your business at the click of a mouse.
